Heritage Open Day and Invasive Species Workshop

PLACES LIMITED - FREE ADMISSION

You are invited to join the Common Knowledge team for our July Heritage Open Day. This event is perfect for anyone interested in visiting Common Knowledge, sustainable practices, nature, biodiversity, heritage and history. It’s also a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and connect with others in the community.

You can choose to join us from 10am for a Invasive Species workshop or join us from 2pm for a walk and talk on our 50 acre site in Kilfenora:

10am - 1pm: Invasive species workshop: Learn about invasive species onsite in Common Knowledge, working with our permaculture team at removing some of those species from the site in a 3 hours hands-on workshop - no experience necessary. This workshop is for people over 18 only. If you are staying for our guided walk, please bring a packed lunch. Also, please bring good garden gloves if you have them.

2pm - 3.30pm: Guided Walk: Embark on a guided tour through our Biodiversity trail. Discover the diverse flora and fauna that thrive here and learn about our ongoing conservation efforts. Join us for talk on the traditional heritage methods we use onsite. We discuss how these techniques like cob, lime and plaster and traditional farming skills in the management and regeneration of the site. Learn about the history and sustainable practices that help preserve our heritage, fellowed by tea and biscuits with your fellow attendees. This part of the day is suitable for all ages, with children accompanied by an adult at all times.

We look forward to welcoming you to an afternoon of exploration, education, and community connection!
