Common Knowledge Open Day with Lime Plastering Workshop and Heritage Tour

You are invited to join the Common Knowledge team for our July Heritage Open Day. This event is perfect for anyone interested in visiting Common Knowledge, sustainable practices, nature, biodiversity, heritage and history. It’s also a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and connect with others in the community.

You can book to join us from 10am for a Lime Rendering and Plastering workshop, or from 2pm for a guided walk and talk as we discuss all things heritage and biodiversity on our 50 acre site in Kilfenora:

10-1.30pm: Lime plastering workshop: Learn about this traditional plastering method and give it a try on one of our heritage building onsite - no experience necessary. This first part of the day is limited in capacity for people aged 18 and over, but no experience necessary. If you are staying for the guided walk please book separately and bring a packed lunch.

2pm - 3.30pm: Guided Walk: Embark on a guided tour through our Biodiversity trail. Discover the diverse flora and fauna that thrive here and learn about our ongoing conservation efforts. Join us for talk on the traditional heritage methods we use onsite. We discuss how these techniques like cob, lime and plaster and traditional farming skills in the management and regeneration of the site. Learn about the history and sustainable practices that help preserve our heritage, fellowed by tea and biscuits with your fellow attendees. This part of the day is suitable for all ages, with children accompanied by an adult at all times.
