REKINDLE Festival of Lost Skills 2024

REKINDLE Festival Day will return to Parliament Street, Ennistymon on the 16th and 17th of August as part of National Heritage Week.

Ignited by intergenerational and intercultural exchange, full details of this year's festival programme are yet to be announced but it is set to feature:

- An outdoor Céilí Mór and Dance Workshop on Parliament Street: Dancer Louise O'Connor will teach a dancing workshop on Parliament Street followed by a Céilí Mór for the community where participants can test out their new steps to live music from our local musicians.

- A heritage trail brought to life around the town with the brilliant local businesses, many steeped themselves in heritage, featuring video and audio pieces highlighting our rich local heritage and culture.

- Traditional skill-sharing demonstrations at the Courthouse Gallery 

- Our Rekindle Makers Market on Parliament Street, with products made by hand and with traditional methods

- A performing arts programme including live traditional music from Ireland and further afield, Irish language events, spoken word and visual arts.

The festival day will be followed by a song and story session in Ennistymon at 6pm: There is a rich history of song collecting and sharing and storytelling in west Clare, this event will give those interested in song and story an opportunity to share from the floor and will have a particular focus on the storytelling and songs in the Irish Language. This will be a free event with all welcome to participate.

A Live Music and dance Performance - 16th August - 7pm Ennistymon
Lasraí
is an intergenerational event featuring Irish traditional music and traditional music from further afield and will feature local and international musicians based in Ireland Stephanie Keane, Mohammad Syfkhan, Louise O Connor, Aindrias De Staic and lots more. All other events apart from our Lasraí concert are free to attend but we kindly ask you to register at the link above for a ticket so we can predict numbers.
