2022 courses go on sale this week

We’ve been working through the winter to curate a range of lively, hands-on skills workshops for you in 2022, and the first release takes place this Saturday 12th February. Sign up for our newsletter below to get an advance ticket link, and future updates.

We have put a lot of thought into creating a lively, varied programme for these courses - you can find more information on our course listings, but here’s a taster…

  • Build School Level 1 & 2 - Anyone can learn to build - perhaps everyone should? Learn the fundamentals of construction over five days. Our level 1 course is suitable for all skill levels.

  • Make a Clay Pizza Oven - Learn how to turn a mound of earth into a fully functional wood-fired cob (clay) oven during this weekend workshop with Bake Hus.

  • Working with Lime - Two different weekend workshops for owners of vernacular buildings, or people wishing to learn a modern use for traditional craft knowledge.

  • Furniture Design - Design and craft a wooden stool in a weekend, while exploring the ergonomics, aesthetics and techniques involved in designing and creating your own pieces of furniture.

  • Rediscovering Wool - Over the course of a weekend, explore the possibilities of sheep’s wool as a building material, a most versatile natural and sustainable material.

  • Organic Food Growing at Home - An in depth weekend of growing your own organic food at home.

  • Apple Grafting & Composting with Pocket Forests - Learn about grafting apple trees and how to turn your everyday food waste into an amazing resource with Pocket Forests.

  • Foraging & Fibres - Learn how and where to forage and discover what to do with your finds, from preparing meals, preservation to creating natural dyes and inks.

All courses at Common Knowledge include two nutritious meals per day curated by our chef Niamh Fox (Little Fox, Ard Bia) and are set in the beautiful surroundings of North Clare filled with swimming spots, landscape, delicious food and friendly pubs.

We’re making improvements to the land and facilities in preparation for a busy summer of learning and sharing and we can’t wait to open our doors to you all once again.
