Covid-19 Safety at Common Knowledge

Updated 23.09.24

We’re all familiar with Covid-19 at this stage and no event is free of the risk it presents. Here we’d like to help you understand, in simple terms, the measures we have taken, as well as our expectations of each other as we work to prevent the spread of Covid.

At Common Knowledge, we take the following actions to prevent the spread of Covid:

  • We follow public health advice and commit to updating our policy should this change

  • We make our expectations of everyone on-site explicit in an easy to understand way

  • We provide facilities that are sheltered but outdoor or highly ventilated for all activity

  • We commit to advise everyone should we be notified of a live case on-site

For each other’s safety, we ask that everyone coming on-site at Common Knowledge, including participants and our team to:

  • Avoid high risk social occasions and contact for the week leading up to your course to minimise your chance of infection and onward transmission

  • Apply common sense, consideration and care when making decisions that could affect others

  • Follow public health advice

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water

  • Use provided hand sanitiser on your hands between using tools

  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing

  • Use your own cutlery and crockery when camping and keep it washed yourself

  • Dispose of tissues quickly and carefully

For the safety of everyone on site, we deal with specific Covid-19 risk cases as follows:

1. If in the lead up to the course, you discover you have Covid and self-isolation will prevent you from attending

  • Let us know as soon as you can

  • We do not provide refunds for courses but on presentation of a medical cert can provide a credit note to attend a subsequent course.

2. If you feel you are at risk of exposure through travel, large events or other circumstances, or are recovering from Covid or Someone in your household or another close contact is symptomatic or has a confirmed case

  • We ask that you receive a negative antigen (and preferably PCR) test the day you arrive.

3. If you are experiencing Covid-like symptoms, including a fever, sore throat, a new cough, and sudden loss of taste or smell

  • We ask that you refrain from coming on site.

  • If you do make the decision to attend, we ask that you receive a negative PCR test result within 48 hours of arrival.

  • If you display symptoms without documentation of a negative PCR result, we may ask to discuss this with you to understand your situation, and for everyone’s safety may request that you leave the site. We will not be in a position to rebook or refund the course.

As the situation with Covid-19 evolves, so will our approach to keeping you safe. We thank you for your patience and flexibility For everyone’s safety, any clear violation of the above covenant policies can result in being asked to leave our site and forfeit of any fees paid.
