Join our Month of Meitheal

After 18 months in the making, we've finally moved into our new home in the Burren. It's a hugely exciting time, and feels like the start of something very special. But there's lots to achieve to get the Centre ready in time for courses in April, so we're asking our community to join our Month of Meitheal.

From March 15th-April 14th, we're inviting volunteers to come and stay at the centre with skill sharing, food and accommodation provided, to help build this dream together as part of our Building, Renovating and Land/Growing teams. We are inviting anyone with a day to spare to join us, and asking people who are staying with us to stay a minimum of 2 days, and stay up to a week.

With 50 acres, two beautiful learning spaces, guest accommodation for 40 people and a former organic vegetable farm ready for new life, the site is a dream home for our organisation. Now known as The Common Knowledge Centre, our vision is of a place that truly belongs to each of us, where we can come together to share basic skills, create useful resources, take care of nature and connect as a community.

Of course this wouldn't have been possible without the support of more than 500 of our community members who responded to our call for support last September, providing us with €60,000 as a deposit for the property and opening the possibility of making this a reality. For now, we are leasing the site, but we have also paid the deposit and agreed to purchase the site when we have secured finance later this year.

We hope you can join us as we set out on this exciting next chapter!

With so much love and hope for an exciting future,

From all the CK Team Xx
