Join our crew for 2022!

Common Knowledge is looking for doers of all sorts to join us in 2022.

Are you an enthusiastic tradesperson keen to share your skills? A passionate maker or mender, a sewer or a grower? Perhaps you’re a designer looking to apply your knowledge in a practical context? Or you’re researcher exploring sustainability looking for likeminded people? Maybe you have no clearly related experience, but are interested and would you like to lend your skills, energy and time to support our efforts.

We want to hear from you!

We want to hear from everyone, but are especially interested in hearing from people from marginalized communities, people who might have previously felt excluded from practicing skills like building or making because of their individual experience, and from people with traditional skills for sustainable living native to any culture.

Some important stuff to note :

  • You do not need to be a working professional in any given area nor have any teaching experience to apply.

  • The opportunities to work together will include both paid collaborations and voluntary positions.

  • We are based in County Clare and can provide transport links to main travel hubs

  • Work may range from as little as a weekend’s work, to a week or consistent part time positions.

  • We are well and truly committed to the creation of a diverse and inclusive family of teachers and endeavour to create a team that embodies this.

  • We are very flexible and can likely fit around any existing work or family commitments.

We believe strongly in peer to peer sharing, so the way we teach people is as important as what we’re teaching. We understand no-one knows everything (us neither!) so we will all help each other to fill in the gaps.

If you have an interest in joining a passionate and collaborative team we would love to hear from you and see how we can fit our skills together. If this sounds like it would appeal to someone you know - please pass it on. If it’s for you, please fill out our form here. We look forward to hearing from you!

Note: The deadline for this call has now ended, but if you are interested in working with us, drop us a line.
