Apply for our 2022 Access Programme

Please note: Our 2022 Access Programme is now closed for applications. If it feels good, we’d still encourage you to complete the form as we will consider all submissions in future rounds.

At Common Knowledge we are committed to supporting the development of a diverse and inclusive community. In 2022 we will offer one place on each of our Build School Level 1 courses to someone who may not otherwise have the opportunity to take part.

Although the cost of our courses reflect the resources required to create learning experiences we can feel proud of, we recognise this expense is a barrier to open participation.

We also understand that there are times in many of our lives, where we can feel excluded from opportunities to learn skills due to who we are or our individual circumstances.

For every one of our Build School Level 1 courses in 2022, our access programme will offer one person:

  1. A place on the course, which includes two meals and other refreshments daily, all course tools, materials and tuition (valued at €750)

  2. A pre-pitched tent for the week on site to stay alongside other camping participants (valued at €125)

  3. A safety pack with all required PPE (valued at €50)

  4. An invite to join our online community, The Commonage, to arrange shared transport and to access knowledge, skills and collaborative projects once the course is finished (access available only to our participants)

We are especially interested in hearing from people for whom the course could be transformative, particularly in accelerating progress on addressing a challenge in your life.

We are interested in hearing from all genders and age groups and particularly from those from disadvantaged and marginalised groups including members of the traveller community, asylum seekers, refugees, people with criminal convictions and LGBT+/queer people.

Applications for our 2022 programme are via this page and will close on March 31st.

A small panel within Common Knowledge will review and shortlist applications. Successful applicants will be offered a place at least six weeks in advance of the course and have one week to confirm if they can attend. Should they be unable to attend, the place will be offered onward until it is allocated. Stay tuned to our social media for updates.
